The Chamber is the largest local business advocacy organization. You are invited to share your time and talent by volunteering on of our committees. Getting involved with the Chamber committee that inspires you will help make a difference for its members. By dedicating your time and energy you will:
Help build a strong local economy
Be the voice of Chamber members with local government
Improve & increase member benefits
Help structure and formulate new and better networking opportunities
Collaborate with community partners and other members to enhance business practices in Manhattan Beach

Committee Descriptions

The Ambassador Committee acts as the official greeters for the Chamber’s new members. They attend ribbon cuttings, mixers, and other events. Ambassadors also volunteer at various events to help register members and greet guests. By becoming an ambassador you will be visible in the community and have the chance to work with individual business owners.

The Economic Development Committee launches programs to help business retention, expansion of membership base and recruitment of new members. They partner with other business groups to promote doing business in Manhattan Beach and the beach communities. This committee is also responsible for producing and supporting the Business Expo and Economic Forum. Participation in this committee affords you the opportunity gain first hand knowledge of the business climate in Manhattan Beach.

The Hospitality Committee focuses on sharing the messaging and marketing of the city. The group is also responsible for helping to drive traffic to local businesses and offering additional visibility for their own businesses within the community.

The LAC represents member businesses with local government. They act as the conduit and voice between the Chamber’s member base and political representatives in the community. Being a part of this committee affords you the opportunity to be instrumental in various decision-making processes.

The SBBLS Committee works with the Chamber to execute the spring event, South Bay Business Leaders Summit. Every year, the committee will gather six months prior to the date of the event and help to put together all the components such as silent auction, speakers, panels and operations leading up to the Summit.

The Bite at the Beach Committee will work with the amazing restaurant community and our gifted chefs, highlighting the diverse offerings from our city. This committee will be engaged with marketing, sponsorship, and advertising as well as pairing restaurants, wineries, and entertainment to bring forth one of the best must-see local events.

This event is meant to bring together local leaders and businesses to spotlight innovation and excellence and will recognize and honor the best and brightest of Manhattan Beach. The committee will work with local members and non-members and help plan the event, select award categories, and vote on potential nominees. They are responsible for marketing, some sponsorship, and selling tickets to ensure the event is an all around success.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) teaches middle and high school go-getters how to start and run their own, REAL businesses.
YEA! guides students through the process of fulfilling their very own American dream. By bridging the business and educational communities students are taught by trained instructors, and are exposed to guest lecturers, successful entrepreneurs and mentors.
